Memphis Daily Appeal
Memphis, Ten
May 4, 1861

This noble corps, principally consisting of connections of some of the most respected and influential families in this city and neighborhood, is ordered on active service and leaves us to-night. The members are all hereby summoned by their respected captain, Dr. Martin, to meet at their armory at ten o’clock this morning. The same authority also summons the company to meet at four o’clock in the afternoon, with their baggage, preparatory to marching to their camp. From their armory they will proceed to Dr. Grundy’s church, corner of Main and Beal streets, to receive a flag which will be presented to them by the ladies of Memphis at five o’clock.
