The Ranchero [Corpus Christi, TX], November 24, 1860
On Thursday morning last the Lone Star Flag was hoisted on Cahill’s flag-staff, and one gun for each southern State was fired. Considerable excitement exists in this city, concerning the result of the late election, and a spirit is manifested by many of our citizens in favor of secession and the re-establishment of the Republic of Texas.
