H. T. Walker, of the Confederate States Army, resigned his position this day, because, despite all his claims as a soldier who has seen service, and as among the first to offer themselves to the South, he finds that he is continually &#8220;overslaughed&#8221; by new appointments.\u2013<em>Richmond Whig. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2013A fight took place at Plattsburgh, Clinton County, Mo., fifteen miles south of the Hannibal and St. Joseph Railroad.
