{"id":2877,"date":"2023-05-20T01:00:02","date_gmt":"2023-05-20T06:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cw-chronicles.com\/blog\/archives\/2877"},"modified":"2020-01-25T21:55:26","modified_gmt":"2020-01-26T02:55:26","slug":"public-works","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.cw-chronicles.com\/blog\/public-works\/","title":{"rendered":"0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">May 20, 1863, <em>Galveston<\/em><em> Weekly News<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><em>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>The San Antonio Herald says the Government has undertaken to establish a Tannery, and cotton and wool Factory in that city on a tract of 75 acres purchased of the city and some two miles above the city.&nbsp; These public works are under the Superintendence of Maj. T. A.
