yes, I am a Southern girl,<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>And glory in the name,<em><br \/>\n<\/em>And boast it with far greater pride<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>Than glittering wealth or fame.<em><br \/>\n<\/em>I envy not the Northern girl<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>Her robes of beauty rare;<em><br \/>\n<\/em>Though diamonds grace her snowy neck,<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The Southern ladies wear.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">This homespun dress is plain, I know\u2013<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>My hat&#8217;s Palmetto, too\u2013<em><br \/>\n<\/em>But then it shows what Southern girls<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>For Southern rights will do.<em><br \/>\n<\/em>We&#8217;ve sent the bravest of our land<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>To battle with the foe,<em><br \/>\n<\/em>And we would lend a helping hand;<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>We love the South, you know.<br \/>\nNow, Northern goods are out of date,<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>And since Old Abe&#8217;s blockade,<!--more--><em><br \/>\n<\/em>We Southern girls can be content<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>With goods that Southern made.<em><br \/>\n<\/em>We scorn to wear a bit of silk,<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>A bit of Northern lace,<em><br \/>\n<\/em>But make our homespun dresses up<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>And wear them with much grace.<br \/>\nOur Southern land is a glorious land,<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>And hers a glorious cause;<em><br \/>\n<\/em>So here&#8217;s three cheers for Southern rights,<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>And for the Southern <em>boys<\/em>.<em><br \/>\n<\/em>We&#8217;ve sent our sweethearts to the war;<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>But, dear girls, never mind,<em><br \/>\n<\/em>Your soldier lad will not forget<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>The girl he left behind.<br \/>\nA soldier is the lad for me\u2013<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>A brave heart I adore\u2013<em><br \/>\n<\/em>And when the sunny South is free,<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>And fighting is no more,<em><br \/>\n<\/em>I&#8217;ll choose me then a lover brave<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>From out that gallant band;<em><br \/>\n<\/em>The soldier lad that I love most<em><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
