A correspondent of the <em>Richmond Examiner<\/em> writes that the despoiled population numbers about six thousand. Of these, about one-fourth are destitute. This proportion has been fed by charity for about twelve weeks. The contributions, in the aggregate, were $200,000, and this sum is rapidly being exhausted.
