Wednesday, 28th.\u2014Passed through Tuscumbia. The next few days we were marching on, passing through Cherokee station, Barton’s station, Price and Vandorn’s fortifications, Iuka battleground, and on to Burnsville, Miss. Very cold; and so ended 1864.<\/p>\n

Alas, how many since thou begun,<\/h5>\n
Have finished all, their races run;<\/h5>\n
Their bodies lie beneath the sod,<\/h5>\n
Their spirits gone to meet their God;<\/h5>\n
Many doomed to eternal woe,<\/h5>\n
To mourn their loss in flames below;<\/h5>\n

\u00a0Will sing praise through eternity.<\/h5>\n
