Rushmore, who came up from Liberty, yesterday, brings intelligence that on Tuesday night, the Majors carried down to that place, a body of U. S. troops and two pieces of artillery. They surprised a party of secession troops, at breakfast, and captured about 30, including their leader, Brig. Gen. Morin. A pole 100 feet high was cut down, a secession flag taken therefrom, and torn up by the soldiers, who carried off the pieces on the points of their bayonets.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">All the prisoners took the oath of allegiance to the U. S., and were released, with the exception of Morin.
