Sumter"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>Saturday, June 29.<\/em>\u2014The pilot having reported from aloft that the <em>Brooklyn<\/em> was no where to be seen, got up steam immediately and ran down Pass \u00e0 l&#8217;Outre with the intention of running the blockade, but after running down the pass 3 or 4 miles we were disappointed to learn that the ship was still at her anchors, our drifting from our own anchor having caused us to shut the <em>Brooklyn<\/em> in behind some trees, which gave rise to the pilot&#8217;s mistake. Returned to our anchorage, changing our position a little to the northward. At 10 p.m. dispatched guardboats down both the passes.
